There are many issues facing the your elected officials every year. Lawmakers do not always know how a bill may affect the people they are elected to represent. That’s why it is so important to let them know what you think.
Our new 2025 legislative guide, Who Represents You? can help. It combines all of the information advocates need into a single, user-friendly resource. You can use it to help with your advocacy efforts. This year we have added a new section to help you understand advocacy at the federal level (Congress) as well as the state level (Iowa Legislature). This guide is available at no cost to people in the Iowa DD Council's advocacy network.
NOTE: This guide is a
draft (updated on January 3, 2025). Iowa's Senate District 35 (map) is currently open and a special election to fill this seat will be held on Tuesday, January 28. Once we know who has been elected, we will post the final version. A new Spanish language version will be available at a later date, but you can see the 2023-2024 version below.
