Rep. Martin Graber (R-Fort Madison) passed away suddenly on Friday, January 31. Rep. Graber was known as a statesman, always listening respectfully and working to unite Iowans. He is the former Commander of Camp Dodge and retired from the military as a Brigadier General. His wife Coni was his clerk and the team were often seen at events around the Capitol, including the Iowa DD Council and Allies in Advocacy event on January 29.
The Iowa House cancelled all meetings on Tuesday, February 3 in order to attend his funeral. When appropriate, the Governor will call a special election for House District 100, which includes most of Lee County.
