The DD Council's State Plan

Every five years, the Iowa Developmental Disabilities Council develops a state plan with goals and objectives to address new ways of improving the lives of Iowans with developmental disabilities. Self-advocates, families, state agencies, providers, educators and other stakeholders provided input into the development of the state plan. The Council created a plan that we believe will result in systems change, capacity building and increased advocacy for Iowans with developmental disabilities. The state plan will guide the Council’s activities over the next five years.

If you would prefer to receive a copy of the plan in the mail, please contact us and we'll be happy to send it to you. We can also provide alternative formats upon request.

Watch the Recording

We also created a recording of the plan!

Watch the video to hear Brooke Lovelace, our executive director, read through the plan and provide more in-depth explanations of our goals. ASL interpreting and closed captions are available during the video.

(When the screenshare begins in the video, there is a short time when the ASL interpreter's camera is not visible. She returns after 5-10 seconds.)
