Special Election Set, Candidates Picked for Senate District #1

State Senator Rocky DeWitt (R-Woodbury) passed away last month after a long battle with cancer.  A special election has been set to fill the remainder of this term (which goes through 2026).  Senate District 1 is entirely in Woodbury County.  If you live in this district, here are some things you will need to know:

Catelin Drey is running as the Democrat.  She is a Morningside University graduate (Spanish/Photography), founder of the grassroots organization Moms for Iowa, taught first grade in Honduras, and is an account manager for Antidote 71, an advertising agency.

Christopher Prosch is running as the Republican.  He owns and operates a media consulting firm and has been a political campaign consultant for Republican candidates and causes throughout the country.
