Collectively, more than 450,000 Iowans living with disabilities can make a significant impact on the public policies and practices that affect their daily lives.
The DD Council works to remove barriers that prevent those with disabilities from fully obtaining the information, resources, and access they need to become actively engaged in civic and political processes. The goal is to develop a disability voting bloc that is recognized statewide as having influence over public policy decisions.

For Iowans with disabilities who wish to vote, the DD Council is here to help. We provide voter trainings, voting assistance, and voting resources to make it easier for everyone to vote. Iowans with disabilities have an opportunity to make an impact in elections, and the DD Council is committed to providing the education and resources needed to build confidence and encourage participation.
Host a voter training in your community. Voter trainings will provide you with a better understanding of the election process and your voting rights.
